Partial space illumination provides separate illumination in individual areas for a visual task. A typical example is the desktop work space, which is identical with the field of the visual task at the desk. In this example the partial space illumination is realized with a desk lamp, in trade and industry work lights are used. The advantage for users: the brightness and light distribution on an individual basis can be adjusted. Partial space illumination may only be used according to DIN EN 12464-1 "lighting of indoor workplaces" as a complement to the normal room or background lighting illuminating the general workplace. At workplaces with difficult visual tasks - this is always the case when small details need to be identified - the extra light of a task light is essential.
