Reflectors are light-conducting systems based on reflective surfaces and use the reflection law. They may be reflecting or scattering. Reflectors scattering the light are usually painted white. Efficiency and light distribution are determined primarily by the depth in which the lamp is placed and the dimension of the reflector. Their form has only limited influence. In contrast, mirror reflectors, which are now produced almost exclusively in polished and anodized aluminum, the reflector contour plays an important role.
